This is ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly (ffmpeg.wasm), running in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. The first conversion downloads the ffmpeg core (about 32 MB), which your browser then caches.

    • H.265 → H.264 (MP4): re-encodes HEVC video with x264 for players and editors that can't decode HEVC. Audio is copied as-is, or converted to PCM if you tick the box.
    • AAC → PCM (MOV): leaves the video stream untouched and converts the audio to uncompressed PCM. DaVinci Resolve on Linux can't decode AAC, so clips from phones and cameras import with silent audio; this fixes that in seconds.

Limits: browser ffmpeg runs on a single CPU core, so H.264 re-encoding is much slower than native ffmpeg. Very large files (over roughly 2 GB of output) can exceed browser memory.
